As
you probably have already noticed, our name and address have changed since
our last print Update newsletter. We want to reassure you, however, that our
services and staff have remained the same. Well, actually, our service
coverage has actually expanded. As long-time friends of the Epilepsy
Center South Central know, we used to serve six Wisconsin counties
Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Juneau, Richland, and Sauk. Our service area has now
been
expanded to include Adams, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, La Crosse, Marquette,
Monroe, Sheboygan, Vernon, and Waushara Counties, as well as the original six!
Our
name has been changed to the Epilepsy Foundation South Central Wisconsin
in keeping with the policy established nationwide to unify our name and logo
and give greater recognition to us all throughout the United States. A
Madison Avenue advertising firm donated its services in the design and
implementation of the new logo, and affiliates around the country approved
the new logo and agreed to change their names to reflect our new
"single purpose, single organization"

And
we moved to our new offices at 7617 Mineral Point Road because we badly
needed the additional office space we have here and also because our new space
has a classroom / conference room with seating for 25. We're excited about our
new home as we will be able to conduct public health education classes onsite
for the many employers, human service agencies, and other groups for whom we
provide seizure recognition and first-aid training.
We
have also been able to
host United Way Campaign rallies and campaign coordinator trainings. We are
grateful to United Way organizations throughout our service territories for
their continuing support of services to people and families with epilepsy,
and we are delighted to be able to loan the use of our facilities to assist
them in this campaign season.
So
come on by for a visit, or drop us a line at: ataggart@facstaff.wisc.edu. We'll
be looking forward to seeing or hearing from you. We have a new name, we have
a new address, but we're still your same good friends always striving
to serve you better.
